A U.S. Postal Service mail carrier was shot and killed inside his work vehicle in Ohio over the weekend.
Jonte Davis, 33, was found by police officers suffering from gunshot wounds around 1:45 p.m. in Warren, about 60 miles southeast of Cleveland, on Saturday. He was transported to Trumbull Regional Medical Center where he later died.
The killer shot Davis from another vehicle, the Warren Police Department stated.
The attacker’s vehicle was found in the driveway of a residence hours later.
“Evidence, including the suspect vehicle, was recovered and several individuals were transported to the Warren Police Department to be interviewed,” police said in a news release.
Police said it appears the victim knew his assailant or assailants and described the shooting at a “targeted attack.”
No one is currently in custody.
“The U.S. Postal Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting with this ongoing investigation,” police said.
The Postal Inspection Service said it is offering a reward up to $250,000 for info leading to the killer’s arrest.
