Up until recently, Miley Cyrus “had no idea” about the wrecking ball effect her mother’s recent marriage to her younger sister’s ex-lover had on the once tight-knit clan.
In August, Tish Cyrus, 56, married 54-year-old actor Dominic Purcell, who reportedly previously dated her 24-year-old daughter Noah Cyrus.
“Noah and Dominic were seeing each other in a friends with benefits way, off and on,” an unidentified source told People.
The hunky “Prison Break” star and Noah Cyrus reportedly stopped seeing each other before her mother, whom the insider said was aware of the relationship, pursued Purcell.
Adding to the alleged mother-daughter tension, the source said, “Tish never gave Noah the chance to talk about all of this before they got married.”
Noah and her brother, Braison Chance Cyrus, were reportedly absent from the Malibu nuptials.
“Tish was the one who did not invite Noah and Braison to her wedding, and blocked them on Instagram after she pursued Dominic… it was Tish who requested security at her wedding to keep Noah and Braison out,” a source told ET:
Miley reportedly let it be known how she felt about the situation.
“She confronted her mom about it,” the source said, adding, “She thinks it’s a strange situation, but she loves her mom and wants her to be happy.”
Before getting hitched to Purcell, Tish was married to country star Billy Ray Cyrus from 1993 to 2022. They had three children together — Miley, Braison and Noah. Tish had two children from her relationship with drummer Baxter Neal Helson, while Billy Ray came to the table already a father of one.
Purcell is the father of four children from his first marriage. The “Legends of Tomorrow” actor also dated former “90210” reboot star AnnaLynne McCord.
