Jessica Vestal, who made history on “Love Is Blind” season 6 as the first ever single mother to appear on the hit series, returned home heartbroken after unexpectedly being rejected by Jimmy Presnell.
The dating experiment went sour for the mom of 10-year-old daughter Autumn when Jimmy, her top connection in the pods, found himself in love with another woman, Chelsea Blackwell.
Jimmy ultimately proposed to Chelsea, sending Jessica into an emotional spiral during their last pod date.
“I’m absolutely devastated. I’m more than heartbroken. But you know what? There is going to be something better for me, and it is not you,” a tearful Jessica tells Jimmy on their last pod date. “You ruined this opportunity for me. I deserved so much more than what you’ve given me.”
Jessica also made sure to tell her ex he would regret his decision to not choose her.
“When you see and realize what you missed out on, you are going to choke. You are going to need your EpiPen to open up your airways because you are going to be in disbelief of what you missed out on.”
The reality contestant told Daily News that, when she got home, her daughter also had words for the man who broke her heart.
“She is very protective of me so she was like, ‘Ok well that’s his loss.’”
Jessica continued, “She knows that she and I are a packaged deal and whoever I end up marrying and being with, it’ll be a blessing to them and us.”
But the 29-year-old executive assistant admits the heartbreak had an emotional impact on her, and she made sure to give herself time before sharing the news with her child.
“I gave myself a little bit of time to collect my thoughts and collect myself before I came home and kind of share everything with her, but I was honest and transparent with her. That’s one of the most important parts about my relationship with her. We’re so close.”
When asked how much information she disclosed to Autumn, Jessica said, “I just told her ‘I went and was myself and left everything on the table and he just wasn’t my person.’”
She added, “He wasn’t right for me and he wouldn’t have been right for her and our dynamic.”
While the experiment didn’t turn out how Jessica and Autumn might have hoped, the mother-daughter duo have made peace with how the experiment unfolded.
“She trusts me and she was happier about how everything turned out. We both have peace that everything happened the way it was supposed to.”
