Shakira, soccer player Gerard Piqué split after 11 years

The rumor mill wasn’t lying.

Shakira and longtime partner, Barcelona soccer defender Gerard Piqué, are splitting up.

“We regret to confirm that we are separating,” read a statement from the 45-year-old Colombian singer’s firm.

The couple shares sons Sasha and Milan.

There’s been speculation of late about the relationship between the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer and the soccer star — which started after they met in 2010 while Shakira was in the midst of promoting the World Cup song, “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” — after Piqué, 35, left their Barcelona home.
