Hugh Hefner’s home may soon be fully stocked with Twinkies.

The future of the Playboy Mansion is in the hands of the home’s current owner – Hugh Hefner’s neighbor, Daren Metropoulos.

The 33-year-old owner of Hostess Brands bought the home in August 2016 for $100 million, the LA Times reports. He said in a statement released at the time that he’d agreed to allow Hefner and his wife, Crystal Harris, to live in the home until the Playboy founder’s death.

Metropoulos’ plans for the infamous estate remain unclear, though NBC News reported that he previously said he was excited to adjoin his property with the newly purchased neighboring one, which he called “the crown jewel of Holmby Hills.”

“I look forward to eventually rejoining the two estates and enjoying this beautiful property as my private residence for years to come,” he said.

“I feel fortunate and privileged to now own a one-of-a-kind piece of history and art.”

CNN reported that Metropoulos’ 5 acre property and the 7.3 acres on which the Playboy mansion sits were originally developed as one massive plot of land in the 1920s.

Hefner’s home – which features a zoo, a grotto, a massive pool and tennis courts – has become synonymous with sexiness, but Metropoulos is believed to have more “pure” intentions for the property, The New York Times reported in 2016.

“I assure you, his interest in the Playboy Mansion is very pure,” Bill Toler, Hostess’ Chief Executive, told the paper. “He’s not the new Hugh Hefner. That’s just silly.”

Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris were married December 31, 2012.
Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris were married December 31, 2012.

As for Crystal Harris, Hefner’s wife of more than five years, she’ll have to find a new residence – on her own dime, according to multiple reports.

As reported in 2013 by Us Weekly, Harris and Hefner reportedly signed an “ironclad” pre-nuptial agreement ahead of their big day.

The outlet reported at the time that the Playmate hadn’t been added to the Playboy founder’s will, which promised his estimated $43 million fortune to “his children, the University of Southern California film school and a variety of charities,” a source said.

It has not been confirmed whether Harris was added to Hefner’s will after signing the initial pre-nup, or whether the beneficiaries of the will had been revised since 2013.
