Kansas City Chiefs superfan Xaviar Michael Babudar was arrested and on Wednesday pleaded guilty in connection to a multi-state crime spree.

The 29-year-old “ChiefsAholic,” who attended football games dressed as a wolf, will be sentenced on July 10 for crimes including bank robbery, money laundering and transporting stolen property across state lines in 2022 and 2023.

“His violent crime spree across the Midwest and beyond traumatized bank employees and victimized financial institutions in seven states,” U.S. Attorney Teresa Moore said in a statement Wednesday. “The defendant tried to conceal hundreds of thousands of dollars in stolen cash by using it to gamble online and at casinos, but the odds caught up with him.”

Babudar’s misdeeds, which prosecutors said included attempted robberies, allegedly took place in Iowa, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Tennessee, Minnesota, Nevada and California. He was allegedly armed during the aforementioned incidents.

A black glove left behind at an Iowa crime scene ultimately led investigators to the Chiefs fanatic.

Babudar’s defense attorney told the Kansas City Star that his client “loves the Chiefs Kingdom, he loves his family, and he loves Kansas City” and asks for support after taking responsibility for his actions.

As part of his federal court plea agreement, Babudar will pay more than $530,000 in restitution to the institutions he robbed. He’s also likely to spend time in prison. Kansas City outlet KMBC reported Babudar’s 11 total robberies and attempted robberies were good for more than $800,000.

The Chiefs won the Super Bowl following both the 2022 and 2023 NFL seasons. They’re expected to contend for a third straight title in 2025, though Babudar will likely have to watch from behind bars.
