The victims ranged in age from 15 to 17, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel confirmed during a press conference.

One 16-year-old boy sustained nine gunshot wounds to the torso and has been listed in critical condition, Philadelphia police said. The seven other victims suffered gunshots to various parts of their bodies, including the back, chest, arms, legs and buttocks, and are said to be in stable condition.

Police believe the shots were fired by gunman in a dark blue Hyundai parked near a Dunkin Donuts in the Burholme neighborhood just before 3 p.m. Three people wearing masks were seen on surveillance video getting out of the vehicle and opening fire at a group of students at the bus stop.

The vehicle fled away from the scene and the suspects are still at large.

Wednesday’s shooting happened near Northeast High School and Crossan Elementary School. The high school students had just been dismissed for the day when the gunplay began, officials said.

Authorities later confirmed at least 30 shots had been fired.

Transportation officials said two busses, Route 18 and Route 67, were also hit by bullets during the afternoon shooting, but no passengers onboard were known to be hurt.

Wednesday’s shooting marks the fourth time this week violence had erupted at a SEPTA location.

Cops said a man was shot and killed on a Route 79 bus in South Philadelphia Tuesday night. A 17-year-old high school student died and four other people were injured when at least one gunman with an automatic weapon opened fire at a bus stop Monday. And on Sunday, a 27-year-old bus passenger was fatally shot during an altercation.

Wednesday’s incident is said to have occurred while SEPTA Police Chief Chuck Lawson was in Philadelphia City Hall meeting with police and other city officials to discuss the recent shootings in the city, according to Fox29’s Steve Keeley.

Homicide detectives charged Steven Brown, 44, Jeffrey Mackey, 38, Amanda Wallace, 40, and Alexis Nieves, 33, with hindering prosecution, tampering with physical evidence and concealing a human corpse. They have not been charged with killing the victims, but it’s unclear if additional charges will follow.

Suffolk County Police said the suspects were arrested after a search warrant was executed Monday night at the Amityville home that Brown, Mackey and Wallace share. Nieves is said to be homeless, but had been staying at the house on Railroad Ave. for a period of time, according to News12 Long Island.

All four suspects were arraigned Wednesday in Suffolk County District Court. They pleaded not guilty and were released without bail, though they’re required to wear GPS monitoring, report to probation in person and surrender their passports.

“Unfortunately, due to ‘bail reform’ passed by the New York State Legislature in 2019, charges related to the mutilation and disposal of murdered corpses are no longer bail eligible,” Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said in a statement.

At Wednesday’s arraignments, Assistant District Attorney Frank Schroeder said authorities have significant evident to support their case, including meat cleavers, butcher knives, blood and surveillance video, but did not specify where the weapons and blood were found.

The names of the victims — a 53-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman — have not been released. Investigators said that, at one point, the pair lived together in Yonkers. Police suspect they may have been involved in a love triangle, according to NBC News.

Cops began their investigation last Thursday when a girl walking to school spotted a man’s tattooed arm outside Southards Pond Park in Babylon. A subsequent search of the park turned up his other arm, as well as the head, arm and leg of a female victim.

Body parts believed to belong to the same victims were also found Tuesday roughly 4 miles away in a wooded area in West Babylon. Additional remains were found that same day in Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, about 10 miles from the first crime scene.

District Attorney Tierney confirmed the investigation is ongoing and vowed to work with police to “resolve this investigation as soon as possible.”

Police believe the situation is an isolated incident posing no additional threat to the public.

Michael Farchi on Monday told Nevada station KLAS that he awoke in his Venetian hotel room around 8 a.m. on Dec. 26 to the feeling of “somebody stabbing me in my private area.”

Farchi went to his room’s bathroom, where he said he spotted an orange scorpion in his underwear.

Photos obtained by KLAS appear to show the desert-dwelling arachnid, at roughly an inch long, sitting on a pair of blue boxer briefs.

Farchi said a hospital visit confirmed he’d been stung by a scorpion.

“Everybody was in shock, nobody believed,” he said. “Even I couldn’t believe it.”

Farchi told the Daily Beast that Venetian staffers “were very dismissive and unapologetic” other than comping his room for one night.

The Venetian meanwhile told KLAS and the Daily Beast that it has “protocols for all incidents and we can confirm they were followed in this incident.”

Farchi checked out the day after his unwelcomed wake-up call, writing in an incident report that the sting left him in  “a lot of pain.”

He said he has no idea how the scorpion got into his room, but blamed the Venetian, saying it must have already been “in the bed” when he got in.

Farchi has lawyered up and is now considering suing the posh hotel.

It’s not clear what kind of scorpion allegedly stung Farchi. A-Z Animals say Las Vegas’ three most commonly seen scorpions are the the venomous Arizona Bark Scorpion and less dangerous Emperor and Desert Hairy scorpions.

“It’s time to bargain a fair contract,” the union wrote to the college on social media. “NCAA athletes deserve better.”

The team announced its intention to unionize in September in a column penned by basketball players Romeo Myrthil and Cade Haskins for the school’s newspaper.

“We deeply appreciate the opportunity that we have to study at Dartmouth, but the business of college sports is different today than it was a few years ago,” the teammates wrote in The Dartmouth.

Their initiative follows a 2021 Supreme Court ruling that the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s restrictions on student-athlete earnings violates antitrust laws. Sports programs typically bring considerable income to colleges and universities.

Myrthil and Haskins wrote that they hope to see student-athletes monetarily compensated for their labor like other students employed on campus. They also want Dartmouth to be held responsible for costs associated with “any long-term disabilities” incurred by athletes representing Dartmouth during sporting events.

Collegiate athletes aren’t currently paid by their schools, though they are allowed to capitalize on their personal brands through sponsorships and endorsements. But that isn’t an option for everyone who plays a college sport.

Myrthil and Haskins called Tuesday’s vote “a big day for our team” and called for an end to “the age of amateurism” in college athletics.

Dartmouth is appealing the National Labor Relations Board’s decision last month to recognize its student-athletes as employees.

“For Ivy League students who are varsity athletes, academics are of primary importance, and athletic pursuit is part of the educational experience,” Dartmouth said in a statement opposing union certification.

School officials have one week to appeal Tuesday’s election procedure, which lasted about an hour.

With 21 losses in 26 games, the Dartmouth men’s basketball team sits in last place in the Ivy League standings. The team plays its final game against Harvard Tuesday night. They didn’t qualify for the March 15 Ivy League Madness tournament at the Upper West Side’s Francis S. Levien Gymnasium.

Police in Evansville, Ind. received a call around 1 a.m. Monday from a man who claimed his sister-in-law had been “joyriding” with children in her vehicle, according to Hoosier State outlet WFIE.

Lindsey Pearson was reportedly arrested outside a southwest Indiana apartment building at 2 a.m. Cops said she screamed and resisted when officers tried to search her.

Local station WEHT identified the 12-year-old boy as Pearson’s nephew.

Pearson told police she was trying to teach the tween to drive and claimed she didn’t know 12-year-olds can’t legally operate vehicles on public roads. The driving lesson allegedly came after Pearson stopped for a cocktail at Rick’s Sports Bar. Charges against her include child neglect, resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct and criminal recklessness.

Pearson was book into the Vanderburgh County Jail. Evansville police did not immediately return a request for comment.

The news was reported Tuesday, the same day more remains were discovered roughly 4 miles away in a wooded area across from 103 Lakeway Drive in West Babylon. Additional human remains were found Tuesday in Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, about 10 miles from Southard Pond Park.

Authorities said the remains in all three locations appear to belong to the same two victims.

Possible suspects were taken into custody Tuesday morning in Amityville, News12 Long Island and 1010 Wins both said.

Suffolk County Police did not confirm those reports to the Daily News by Tuesday evening, but did say a search was conducted Monday night at 25 Railroad Avenue in Amityville. No human remains were found during that search.

ABC News reported four people were questioned in the Amityville home, and at least two arrests have been made.

Thirty-eight mushers are participating in the race, which spans roughly 1,000 miles. It began ceremonially Saturday and will last roughy 10 days, with the formal competition kicking of Sunday.

This year’s Iditarod is the first in which dogs will sport glowing accessories meant to keep them safe as they cross a mountain ranges and frozen water through day and night. Humans participating in the race wear bright lights on their heads.

The dogs’ safety equipment was supposed to have been distributed Saturday, but was delayed while racers waited for rules committee approval, according to The Associated Press.

Light gear for the dogs racing Sunday will be handed out about 75-miles north of Anchorage before serious competition starts.

Protecting dogs that pull racing sleds was brought into focus during a November training run when a snowmobiler believed to be travelling at 65 m.p.h. hit a team led by five-time champion Dallas Seavey.

The crash killed two of his dogs and injured several more.

Weeks later, three dogs were killed and another was hurt in a collision with a professional snowmobiler. In both cases the snowmobile operates were cited for reckless driving. The front dog on an Iditarod teams races roughly 60-feet in front of the sled.

Trump, who won the Idaho primary Saturday night, is likely to take a big step forward in his bid to officially become the GOP’s 2024 presidential nominee when Republican primary voters go to the polls for next week’s Super Tuesday.

The suspect, of Brighton, was detained on two counts of third-degree stalking after sending “unwanted, harassing and sexually explicit messages” to multiple people over “an extended period of time,” Brighton Police said.

Mathews was arraigned in Brighton Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He’s due back in court on March 11.

On Wednesday, St. John Fisher went into lockdown after Mathews allegedly entered a staffer’s office, menaced her with a knife and attempted to make sexual contact. The alleged victim managed to disarm Mathews, who Monroe County Police located the following day after an extensive search. He was charged with attempted kidnapping and sexual abuse.

Chief Deputy Michael Fowler said Mathews’ alleged victim — who’s affiliated with the university’s pharmacy school — believes her attacker has “emotional disturbance issues.”

Mathews reportedly expressed concerns to the staffer that his poor grades at the school would cause trouble within his family. He’s accused of attempting to stab the school employee when she suggested he might benefit from psychological help.

Breathtaking images show rescue workers suspended on cables navigating the side of the George Rogers Clark Memorial Bridge while making the dramatic save in Louisville, Ky.

Louisville Fire Chief Brian O’Neill credited his team for beings total pros after their heroic effort was complete.

“They train for this type of stuff,” O’Neill told reporters. “This is very much a worst case scenario. Kind of a crazy thing you don’t expect to actually have to do until you show up and you see it.”

He said the unidentified driver was remarkably calm while being rescued, then allowed her emotions to kick in once lifted to safety in a harness roughly 40 minutes after first responders set up their pulley system.

The driver’s precarious situation was the result of a three-vehicle crash around noon on the bridge connecting Kentucky to southern Indiana, according to The Associated Press.

The front of her truck plunged through a gate and was suspended in mid-air while the truck’s trailer remained on the bridge’s roadway. Firefighters said the extraction mission that ended with a single rescue worker on a cable pulling the truck driver from her cab was the result of teamwork.

“We’re willing to risk a lot to save a lot,” O’Neill said.
