A bicyclist died from his injuries after colliding with a hit-and-run driver in the Bronx, cops said Saturday.
Thierno Balde, 24, was hit after he blew through a steady red traffic signal as he pedaled on E. 161st St. in Melrose at around 5:55 a.m. on Friday.
A Jeep Grand Cherokee headed south on Melrose Ave. collided with Balde in the intersection, police said. The Jeep driver had a green light and sped off after the impact, cops said.
Balde was not wearing a helmet, said police sources.
Medics rushed Balde, of the Bronx, to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he later died from his injuries.
There have been no arrests and the investigation was ongoing on Saturday night, cops said.
