A 71-year-old woman was badly hurt when she was struck in the Bronx by a hit-and-run driver who fled on his electric vehicle, police said Friday.

The victim was rushed by medics to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition and is recovering.

The incident happened last Friday afternoon as the victim was walking on Burnside Ave. near Jerome Ave.

Police said the suspect, heading north on Jerome Ave., hit the woman and then kept going in the same direction.
