French actor Gérard Depardieu has been accused of another sexual assault.
A woman identified only as Amélie, 53, alleges Depardieu made multiple vulgar comments toward her, “grabbed her” and “kneaded her waist and stomach right up to her breasts” during production of a 2021 movie where she was worked as a set designer.
Depardieu, 75, has previously been accused of inappropriately touching a 33-year-old assistant director on the same film, “The Green Shutters.”
Carine Durrieu Diebol, an attorney for Amélie, said multiple people on set tried to stop Depardieu.
The actor has also been accused by other women of harassing, groping or sexually assaulting them in a French TV documentary that aired in December. He was slapped with preliminary rape and sexual assault charges in 2020 following allegations from actor Charlotte Arnould and is currently on trial after a Paris court found “serious and confirmed evidence that justifies [him] remaining charged.”
Depardieu has publicly denied the allegations and received support from others in the French movie biz.
The latest accusation comes on the heels of actor Judith Godrèche decrying abuse in the country’s film industry during a speech at the Cesar Awards ceremony — France’s equivalent of the Oscars — on Friday.
Godrèche has accused two film directors of rape and sexual abuse when she was a teenager.
“We can decide that men accused of rape no longer rule the cinema,” she said. “Let’s not embody heroines on screen only to find ourselves hiding in the woods in real life.”
