Teams hunting for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 have completed 40% of their search but still haven’t found any signs of the missing plane, officials said.

Investigators have scoured more than 14,900 square miles at the bottom of the Indian Ocean, the Australia Transportation Safety Bureau announced Wednesday in a statement.

The entire search should be completed by May, the bureau said. Forecasters predict good weather this week, which will continue into the warmer months and help with the search. Poor conditions have delayed the hunt before and the area is prone to brutal weather.

MH370, carrying 239 people from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, vanished March 8.

No wreckage has been recovered, despite exhaustive search efforts in the Indian Ocean. Last month, Malaysia declared the crash an accident.

Earlier this week experts suggested the flight was heading toward Antarctica when it went off the radar.
